It was a scaler day on Saturday, October 16th. Scaler's being the scale side of r/c rock crawling, these guys and gals had a fun day with two events planned. A Show-N-Shine style display at Jake's Performance Hobbies had well over 25 trucks being displayed. The building talent in our area is awesome, but a traveling scaler, Gordon from Sacramento area, took home the People's Choice award (and a $25 JPH Gift Card!). Gordon narrowly beat out locals Everett Maggio and Vince Llamas, who took 2nd and 3rd.
When the shop closed up, the scaler crew headed out to Flat Rock for an evening of fun. They were treated to an awesome raffle, with prizes donated by Novak and Pro-Line. As it got dark, the lights went on (flashlights, headlamps, and plenty of rock lights on the crawlers) and everyone got to enjoy a trail run style GTG.
A big thanks goes out to Charlie Suangka for heading up the NBRCC Scaler Crew and hosting the event. The Club really has some die hard enthusiasts, in both the comp and scaler worlds. It's really nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and just having fun with their r/c trucks out on the rocks!
