January has a few r/c things going on ...
January 15th: 1/5th scale racing at the 101 Offroad Track. Bring out your Christmas present and give it a run! Should be a great turnout of 2wd and 4wd 1/5th gas buggies and trucks.
January 13-15th: The Epic Freeze race at B.R.P. in Lakeport. The first big off-road race of 2012!
January 21st: The NBRCC Crawler Club has a comp set at Lake Folsom. Stop by the Beeks Bight location to watch or compete.
January 22nd: Speed Run time! Expect to see 100mph cars doing their thing. Part of Regional Parkway (off Airport Blvd.) will be blocked off for the event. Hope to see a bunch of you out there!
Around the shop:
Well, we've been busy rearranging things, cleaning up from the Holidays. The Heli section has been straightened out and we've added some Align parts! Edge Blades are in stock for most Helis. KBDD Blades and a few other Micro Heli parts are here for the MCPX. Stop bye and take a look and let us know what else you would like to see added.
We've also straightened the Airplane section ... We've added some new Planes like the E-Flite Shoestring, a new YAK from 3D Hobby Shop, the Scimitar from Parkzone, and more. Spektrum radios are in stock, DX6i, DX7s, and DX8, plus receivers, servo extensions, etc ...
On the car side of things ... The new Losi 1/5th scale is awesome! We've got Axial's Wraith kits, and expect the new EXO later this month. Losi RTR Mini Sprints are still on sale at $99.99. In general, parts for all brands are stocked up and looking good. Racing season is right around the corner, almost time to start getting ready!

October 2nd: The Ground Pounder Club will be hosting an R/C Race in Rohnert Park. The location will be the Driven Raceway parking lot. (The race is this Sunday.) Asphalt oval and road course racing, for electric and nitro. Featured Classes are Foam Tire F1 and 17.5 Oval (with a 125 lap main event!) October 9th: Another Side Street Speed Meet will be held in Santa Rosa. Come out and see how fast your r/c car can go! During the last Speed Meet, cars were hitting the mid 90's and even 100mph!
October 9th: The 101 Off-road R/C Track and Club will be hosting races for 1/10 and 1/8 scale (nitro and electric).
October 15th: Hobbytown Petaluma will be hosting a parking lot race. Electric and Nitro.
October 16th: The Wine Country Flyers will be hosting Pylon Racing. Only two more events for the 2011 season and both classes have ties for 1st place! Spectators are free and welcome. Come up and enjoy some air racing.
October 23rd: The 101 Off-road R/C Track and Club will be hosting races for 1/5 scale(buggy and truck).
October 29th: The Ground Pounder Club will be hosting their annual Halloween R/C Race in Santa Rosa! The location will be Water Agency parking lot. Asphalt oval and road course racing, for electric and nitro. Featured Class is the Figure 8 Race!

September 17th: The NBRCC Club is coming out swinging for 2011. This will be their first rock crawler comp of the new series, and it's LOCAL! GP Meeting: The Ground Pounder Club will be having an important meeting on February 15th. The rule changes for the 2010 season will be discussed and voted on. Attend and voice your ideas and opinions. There will also be a larger than normal raffle with great prizes! Round Table Pizza, on Steele Lane, 7:30pm. Crawler Comp: The NBRCC Club will be hosting the 2nd Competition of it's 2011 Series on February 20th. This event will be at Genentech North and is limited to 2.2 comp crawlers. Genentech offers a wide variety of terrain and the course will be challanging!

Drag Test-N-Tune: Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) and the Bay Area RC Drag Club will host an R/C Drag Test-N-Tune day on February 21st. Track will be set up by 9:30am and will have open runs and maybe some bracket racing. The Club offers a full timing system, with lights and slips showing the info on your run.

Traxxas Grinder and Grave Digger Monster Jam Trucks! Indoor Flying!Alright, it's time to promote the next Indoor Fly Event, hosted by Jake's Performance Hobbies and University of Sports! This time it will be an evening event, February 12th, for 6pm to 9pm.
Open to all micro helicopters and airplanes (please, nothing larger this time) it will be an open fly time event, with some changes from the last event: 8 pilots max in the air at one time. If needed, we will break up the flying time by airplane speed. The "no fly line" will be enforced this time as well.
Pilots will be asked for a small cash donation (the amount of their choice) to help offset the rental fees. Spectators and non-flying family members are FREE and welcome to come watch the FUN!
The University of Sports is located at 555 Rohnert Park Expressway • Next to Target, behind the movie theater.
Please spread the word and come join in the fun! This even will be rain or shine, as it is INDOORS!!

This Sunday, December 5th, from 12 to 4 pm, rain or shine, we're flying micro airplanes and helicopters indoors at the University of Sports, here in Rohnert Park. (We get to use of their awesome indoor soccer field.)
This event is FREE to all Pilots and Spectators. We will have some awesome raffle prizes!
The event is open to all micro heli's and planes. The ceiling height is best suited for slow flyers and helicopters, but if you've got the skills you're welcome to try planes like the Micro P-51 and Micro T-28! (not enough ceiling height for mid or full size foamies or heli's).
Plenty of open fly time for all. There will also be Charlie's Heli-Skills course and some fun fly style events for the airplane pilots.
Please Note: Please add name tags to your equipment. Batteries, chargers, planes and heli's. This will just help avoid any confusion during the day.
Put fresh batteries into your radio and battery chargers.
Bring your DC chargers and all your batteries! Limited AC charging.

R/C Drag RacingThe Bay Area MHRA RC Drag Racing Club will be holding our final Bracket Race/Test&Tune for 2010 on Sunday, November 28th. Micro Planes!Got in the new E-Flite UMX Beast, and after about 6 parking lot flights... I give it two thumbs up! Awesome flying little beastie! E-Flite / Horizon and Great planes have donated prizes for our indoor fly day, coming up December 5th. We'll be giving away a Blade MXC2 and an Albatross bi-plane (along with other goodies!). Not many of you know this, but Jacques is going to jail and his last day working at JPH will be Friday the 15th. No, he's not going to be locked up! He's moving on to a new, exciting career in the prison system.
We invite everyone to come on down to the shop on Friday and say goodbye to Jacques. He will be missed by all of us, as he's become like family here at the shop, we wish him well in his new venture.
Rock Crawler 411:
October 16th offers a full day of crawler events, it's like a Rocktober party day. First up is a comp up in Ukiaka with the Mendo-Crawlers. It's their season finale comp, more info can be found here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274349
Next up is "Scalers on Display" at Jake's Performance Hobbies. From 3 to 5pm, on the 16th (this Saturday) there will be a show-n-shine style event at the shop, featuring all the local scale crawler building talent. Stop by and vote for your favorite truck, spectators and entrants are free! People's Choice winner gets a $25.00 JPH Gift Card. Plus, each entry get a ticket for Charlie's awesome raffle!
To finish off the day, there will be a Night Trail Run hosted by the NBRCC Scaler Crew and Jake's Performance Hobbies out at Flat Rock. This will be a trail run style get together, showing off how well those cool looking scalers can run on the rocks. Charlie's awesome raffle will happen at 5:45pm, so be sure to be out on the rocks by 5:30! The raffle is sponsored by Team Novak and Pro-Line Racing, and from what I hear it's got prizes worth mega bucks!!

The NBRCC Club will be hosting a Comp on October 24th. This will be "Under the 101" in Santa Rosa. 2.2 class only, but the club has decided to make the courses much more "Shafty" friendly. So bring out those Axial's and Losi's and have some FUN!

The Need for Speed:
The Ground Pounder Club will be hosting their annual Halloween Race on October 30th, in the parking lot of Driven Raceway in Rohnert Park. Night races are always a ton of fun and the Halloween theme adds even more fun in the mix. The Featured Race is the Gary O', Go For the Gusto, Figure 8 Race. Now this is not for the faint of heart, but it's a real treat! More info coming soon, but please mark your calendar for this event! Sept.Local R/C News:
Thursday, September 30th, there is a meeting for the North Bay RC Crawlers (NBRCC) club at the Rohnert Park Round Table Pizza at 7:00pm. Plenty of help is needed from our local rock crawling enthusiasts to get the 2011 Club Series finalized and other club business taken care of.
Sunday, October 3rd, is the next Ground Pounder Club race. This one will be held at the Water Agency parking lot off of Airport Blvd. The feature class is F1.
The GP Club 2010 Point Series is winding down, with only 2 races left to go! Anyone wishing to be part of the series must get signed up with the GP Club during the race on Sunday.
