It was a cold, rainy, windy Sunday afternoon ... And, we were flying R/C airplanes and Helicopters! Yep, we sure were! Indoors at the University of Sports in Rohnert Park!
Jake's Performance Hobbies and University of Sports teamed up and offered our local r/c pilots a chance to fly indoors on UofS's awesome indoor soccer field. And, it was a treat!
The turn out was much larger than expected. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, the laughter and talking was excellent to see. There were times when 12 airplanes were flying at the same time! Some tried a little pylon racing. Some tried a little limbo. Some tried to fly through a hulla-hoop. Others, just tried to keep their planes in the air and out of harms way.
The helicopters really enjoyed the open space, as most had only been flown in living rooms and garages. The MSR's got a chance to zoom around at speed. The MCX's got to stretch their legs and head out for some distance flights.
Everyone got as much flight time as they could handle. 4 hours was a great time frame. Everyone was treated to a free raffle. Thank you goes out to JPH, E-Flite, FlyZone and Common Sense for the prizes. Winners are listed below.
